Mudfooted.com

After celebrating Mudfooted’s first birthday this winter I thought it was time for a extensive update and redesign of Mudfooted.com. After a lot of evenings/nights of hard work Mudfooted Design 4.0 is finally there!

I wanted to give Mudfooted.com an even better look, let it load faster and give it a number of new features at the same time!

First of all, I changed the general layout to make mudfooted.com look fresher and more colourful. Next to that, I redesigned the header visual and incorporated nice small header buttons on the left and social sharing buttons in the middle, all with their own hover effects. Also, I decided to add the new feature to be able to search Mudfooted.com using the new search form on the right. Now you can even more easily find your favorite Mudfooted article!

Another big change is that I decided that I want to write more diverse posts, ranging from featured animal species or fascinating nature topics, to amazing wildlife video- and photography, making the newest and most interesting scientific articles understandable for lay people as well as writing about my own explorations of our natural world. The five categories are easily distinguishable by their unique color, so if you scroll through the website you can easily find posts from your favorite category. Off course you can also find the categories in the sidemenu Furthermore, each post has its own unique tags to find similar articles in an easier way!

Another new layout feature is a width-dependent layout. Dependent on the width of your browser, Mudfooted will get either the narrow, medium or wide look! Try it out now, decrease the width of your browser till you see Mudfooted.com change shape twice!

Although almost all of the most recent browsers support this cool feature, internet explorer users have to wait till Microsoft also gives them this opportunity… Finally, I made it easier for you to share mudfooted posts with your friends on facebook and twitter using the fixed hovering sharebox.

Other updates include: aboutpage, contactpage, twitterbox, all-posts on sidebar, facebook sidebar box, image and video layout, date and time of posting, commentnumber, commentstructure, header, font-types, SEO, image sprites, CSS 3.0 validation, link layout, completely rewrote html and css code, faster loading, and much more…
